FAQ
Questions Buyers Ask
Short answers for brands and agencies commissioning an AI commercial: rights and usage, faces and voices, product accuracy, changes, timing, formats, live footage, confidentiality and white-label work.

Rights and Usage
- Who owns the finished film?
- The contract sets out what you get: the media, territories and term you need, and who holds what. For most commissions that means you can run the film wherever your plan says, for as long as it says, and nobody else gets to use it.
- We also keep a record of how each shot was made and which parts are written, designed, edited and mixed by people, which is what your legal team will ask for.
- Can a generated film be protected by copyright?
- This is still being settled and it differs by country. In the United States, the Copyright Office has said that purely machine-generated material is not protected, while human authorship in a work (the script, the selection and arrangement of shots, the edit, original music) can be. We tell you which parts of your film are human-authored so your lawyers can decide how to protect it.
- Is it safe for our brand to use generative AI?
- The risks are known: a model can reproduce something it was trained on, add text or marks you did not ask for, or produce a face that resembles a real person. We check every shot for stray text and marks, we never ask a model for real people or other brands, and we tell you which tools made each shot so you can check them against your own AI policy. If your company has an approved-tools list, we work inside it.
- Will the film be labelled as AI-generated?
- Some platforms and markets ask for a disclosure, and the EU AI Act sets transparency rules for synthetic media. We follow its guidance as best practice and tell you where a label is expected. How you disclose in your own channels is your decision, and we will give you the facts to make it.
Faces, Voices and Actors
- Are the people in your films real?
- No. Every face and voice in our films is original, created by our team rather than taken from a real person. Each character is designed for your film and approved by you before production.
- Can you use our ambassador, founder or a real actor?
- Only with that person's written consent, and with the use agreed in writing: which film, which media, for how long. Often the better route is to film the person for real and build the world around them. We never use anyone's likeness without consent.
- Will the same character look the same in every shot?
- That is the main thing our process is built to protect. Characters are designed and approved before production, and every shot is checked against them. When a shot drifts, it is fixed or replaced. See how we work.
Brand and Product
- Will our product, logo and type look right?
- Yes, because we do not ask a model to draw them. Generated images are poor at exact logos and lettering, so packshots, logos, on-screen type and the end card are added in post from your own files.
- What can't you do well?
- Some things are still hard to generate to a premium standard: hands handling a product in close detail, long unbroken takes, readable text inside the scene, and large groups of people talking. We say so at the route stage and plan around it, by changing the shot, compositing your real files, or filming an insert.
Process and Changes
- How many rounds of changes do we get?
- The quote states the rounds at each gate: routes, script, cast and world, shot plan, rough cut and final. Changes are cheapest early. Changing a line of script costs little; changing it after the scene is made means making the scene again.
- How long does it take?
- For a :30 with cutdowns, we deliver in 3 to 7 days when you send the brief, assets and feedback quickly, and sometimes faster. You still approve at each gate, and the date follows those approvals. A simpler film can be sooner. Dialogue, crowds or many formats can use the full week. Each quote has its own schedule. The stages are on how we work.
- What do you need from us?
- The brief (product, the one claim, audience, where it runs, mandatories), your brand guidelines, product files and packshots, any legal lines, and one person who can approve at each gate. If you have research or past campaigns, send those too.
- What formats do you deliver?
- Whatever your media plan needs: :06, :15, :30 and :60 cuts, and 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 versions, with resolution, frame rate and loudness agreed in the quote. Each version is edited and checked, not just cropped. Stills and key visuals can be made from the same cast and world.
- Can you work with our footage?
- Yes. We can add generated shots or whole sequences to a live-action edit, put filmed products or people inside generated worlds, or extend and finish footage you already have.
Agencies and Confidentiality
- Can you work under our agency's name?
- Yes. We work white-label for agencies and production companies: pitch films, second routes, look development, production and finish. Our name does not appear unless you want it to, and the client stays yours. More on white-label partnership.
- Will you sign an NDA?
- Yes. Briefs, assets and work in progress stay private, and we do not show client or agency work in our portfolio without permission.
About the Studio
- Is the work on your site for real clients?
- Most of it is spec: films we made on our own to show what we can do. Each one is labelled on its work page. The brands and categories shown did not commission them.
- Where are you based?
- Near Montréal, Canada. We work in English with brands and agencies in North America and the UK.
- What does it cost?
- We quote per brief. What drives the price is on pricing.
